Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts development

This time, I’m going to talk about Movenpick Hotels & Resorts. I’ve found appropriated to present their development method. Given the fact that I've examined Starwood activity, it is interesting to compare them.

Their strategy is to expand the company’s regional and international presence. Their goal is to increase the hotel chain to beyond 100 hotels under operation and development in the next five years, with a geographical focus on Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. An organic growth with eight to ten hotels per year is foreseen mainly in the form of management contracts.

Their main concern for development is essentially focus on Mövenpick hotels, Resorts and Residences. Compare to Starwood, they don’t manage other hotel’s brands and their properties portfolio are smaller than the giant.

This information was collected via their website:

Mövenpick Hotels

Our fine hotels, situated in city centres, busy suburban locations, or close to airports, offer business travellers extensive meeting facilities and comfortable accommodation with all the amenities they require for their professional activities.

Mövenpick Resorts

Mövenpick Resorts offer spacious accommodation and elegant landscaped grounds. Extensive leisure amenities, spa, dining options, and conference facilities create a perfect environment for meetings or pure leisure.

Mövenpick Residences

Our upscale residences provide the same comfort and amenities found in our hotels. The apartments are specially designed for long-staying guests and offer ample space and additional amenities. We aim to develop our Mövenpick Residences primarily in city centres and established hotel locations alongside our hotels and resorts.

Both, Starwood and Mövenpick use different methods to develop their properties. Indeed, contrat management is used by them, given the fact that they only manage the establishment and then their fees is based against contrat management and annual property result. Regarding Mövenpick group, they only develop their own brand contrary to Starwood.
