Could hoteliers remove negative reviews?

I have found this interesting video concerning the negative reviews and I would like to share this one with you.

  1. Trip Advisor is a well known tool on the internet which enables travelers to give their opinion about a place, a hotel, a restaurant... Thanks to that, travellers can communicate and it create a pool of information that expresses personnal experiences. This expresses some opinions that would never be told by the hotel owner or manager, and that can be useful to future guests.

To me it seems unthinkable to have a comment remoed by a hotel owner : he would prevent its guest from expressing. Ans It could be that he is ashamed of the guest's experience in his hotel and want to hide it.
It is important that hotels accept their performances, the good ones and the negative ones. Maybe the fact that they cannot remove the comments, except in very specific cases, may influence them and force them surpassing themselves, improves their guest relations : they know that the faintest mistake is not permited anymore because it will be broadcast on the internet.
The statistics show that a very unpleased guest will talk of his bad experience to an average 20 people. Today, the consequence is not the same any more : with the internet, any person can be awre of this bad experience, and will be influenced in choosing a place to go.
